WILD

MACRO

PHOTO

By Carolina PratoCasanova

Visual art highlights endemic and native species, emphasizing the fragility and beauty of our natural heritage.

Who is Wild Macro Photo

Carolina, specialized in macro artistic photography, driven by a deep passion for uncovering the intricate details of nature.

Living between New Zealand and Chile, her perspective is shaped by the diverse ecosystems of these two stunning countries. She has travelled to remote and pristine locations, capturing the hidden beauty of the natural world. Her work focuses on the delicate and often overlooked wonders of flora, fauna, and textures, offering viewers a closer look at the extraordinary within the ordinary.

However Carolina, creates abstract reinterpretations of embalmed endemic species, drawing inspiration from scientific collections housed in the natural history museums and botanical gardens of Chile and New Zealand. She aims to bridge generations, museums, and nature by reimagining these collections in a more familiar and everyday context, bringing their beauty and significance into people’s homes.
